GRANT WRITING

Our approach to growing grant revenue has already helped countless organizations launch new programming, increase visibility, and sustain meaningful relationships with key donors.

So glad I worked with Write On in 2020, could not have survived my first year as ED without their help.

INDIVIDUAL GIVING

Write On’s consulting services are custom-built for nonprofit organizations with complex fundraising and operational needs. Whether you are struggling to get your individual giving program off the ground, want to better engage your board of directors in fundraising, or simply want to win more major gifts for your organization, Write On has you covered.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGNS

Like everything else we do, Write On approaches capital campaigns a little differently than others. Most campaigns happen in three phases; our campaigns happen in four, and the first phase is far more in-depth and comprehensive than those of our competitors. Typically, a Write On capital campaign includes: the planning phase, the quiet (or private) phase, the public phase, and the annual fund transition phase.

When you’re a nonprofit Executive Director many days you can feel alone in the world. I met Lindsay with WOF more than a year before my board was ready to even discuss a capital campaign. Little did I know that we’d set off on a fundraising adventure during a pandemic, when your sense of being all alone is compounded. I could not have picked a better person or organizaiton to partner with during the dark cloud of COVID. Knowledgeable = check. Confident = check. Ability to help shepherd your board through the process = check. Gaining a friend was not part of the proposal, but is a byproduct I value. You will not be disappointed.

Education + Training

RALLY POINT

Rally Point is where social good starts. Presented by Write On Fundraising, this innovative accelerator propels nonprofits and social entrepreneurs in the start-up and restart stages of organizational development.

PATHWAYS TO PHILANTHROPY

The Pathways to Philanthropy Apprenticeship seeks to provide a direct point of entry to professional philanthropy for Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) through paid, on-the-job grant writer training, mentorship, and donor network-building.

The two-year apprenticeship is designed specifically for entry-level applicants with less than 12 months of fundraising experience and targets the primary barriers to entering the field for people of color: hard skills, sphere of influence, and support system.

FUNDRAISING WORKSHOPS

Write On Fundraising’s custom trainings focus on upskilling professional fundraisers and volunteer board members for greater impact. Our more frequently requested group trainings include:

Board Fundraising - Write On Fundraising’s “Three C’s of Fundraising” dispells common myths around board fundraising and empowers trustees (and staff) with the tools and information they need to be effective advocates and fundraisers for the causes they care about. This training can be customized for delivery directly to a board of directors, for a staff that would like to train their own board, and for large-group audiences at conferences and conventions.

The Capital Board - Whether you are gearing up for a capital campaign or in the midst of one, the board of directors has a huge role to play in the success or failure of your campaign. “The Capital Board” training prepares board members for this heightened time of fundraising and visibility and provides easy ways to plug in and support the campaign.

CUSTOM COACHING

From seasoned professionals to those brand new to fundraising, everyone could use some help getting “unstuck” every once in a while. Write On’s custom one-to-one coaching is designed to help upskill pros and provide a comprehensive overview of basic functions to staff new to fundraising.

Common requests for coaching include:

  • New skills acquisition, such as moving from a special event-focused program to one that spends more time in major gifts

  • Skills updating (particularly where the pandemic created major shifts in “best practices”)

  • Burgeoning fundraising training for beginner fundraisers and those moving into management and leadership positions for the first time

  • In response to a specific need or challenge, like getting a new CEO up-to-speed on certain best practices

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world: indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

— Margaret Mead

"Lindsay provided a Board Fundraising training for us, The Stonebrook Project. It was amazing! For me as the Founder, it gave me insight for each of my board members. We determined if we are a Connector, Closer, or Cultivator. For the board members, it was encouraging to realize how much they contribute to fundraising. We were able to set a team goal and break it down to an individual goal for fundraising. This is so helpful and gives each person a visual, accountability and a goal to work towards. I highly recommend this training to any nonprofit! No matter if you are just launching or if you have been established for many years. This information and training are so valuable!"
